.......Arbitrator Gil Vernon has upheld the agreement between Union Pacific and other railroads with the United Transportation Union assigning responsibility for Remote Control Locomotive (RCL) technology in and around terminals to UTU members.
Barring unexpected developments, the ruling should become effective Jan. 31.
.......A total of 161 Union Pacific jobs are now assigned to RCL technology in Des Moines, Hinkle, Kansas City, the Twin Cities, San Francisco Bay area, Pine Bluff, Rochelle, Ft. Worth and Green River.
